General orientation - The Mediterranean Sea – west of modern day Israel

Ancient peoples entered the bible land of Jesus from the North, South, East and West.

From the North, traders and immigrants came from Syria across a land route that swept like a crescent from the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to Assyria, Syria and to Galilee. Abraham was called by God to leave Ur. He obeyed in faith, left Ur of ancient Iraq, and travelled along that route, and entered Canaan from the north.

From the South, groups of people came from Egypt and Africa.

From the East, other groups entered via the trade route on the eastern side of the Jordan river.

From the West, sea-peoples, like the Phoenicians, seafarers from Crete and Cyprus, and the ancient Philistines, settled along the coastline of Israel, ancient Canaan. The inland sea is surrounded by Europe, Asia, and Africa. Europe: Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus. Asia: Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, the Gaza Strip and Egypt. Africa: Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
