Bethesda Chapel 2001
SG Bible Study #4
A Serving and Witnessing Community of Believers
(Note: Bring along Personal Goals 2001)
Doxology: "Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise
Him all creatures here below
Praise
Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise
Father, Son and Holy Ghost." Amen
Quiet Contemplation (3 minutes)
The Holy Spirit has come on Pentecost, given to the infant church with phenomenal signs and convincing proofs to show the Jewish believers that the Gentile believers are one with them as one body of Christ under the new covenant. The Holy Spirit convicts one of sin, and shows Jesus as the Saviour and Lord of life. The life-giving Spirit scrubs one free from sins, and sanctifies with Gods word for service (Jn 3:6; Titus 3:5; 1 Cor 6:11). More than these, God the Father has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us (Rom 5:5). So we are empowered by the indwelling Spirit to love as Christ loves and serve as Christ serves.
