History of Bethesda Chapel
Bethesda Chapel, formerly known as Geylang Gospel Hall, is a Brethen Church in Singapore.
The church started as a Sunday School at no. 55, Lorong 29, Geylang in 1957.
On 24th July 1983, we were left without a roof when the government acquired the land. It was a most trying period for us. The church moved temporary to 77 Bras Bah Road (former Bethesda Gospel Hall, Bras Basah).
In early 1986, the property at no.27 Lorong Melayu was
purchased through the sacrificial giving of church members and friends.
On 6th September 1987, the first service was held in these present premises.
